Starting to get to grips with 3d Max.  As a bit of a learning exercise I am modelling things in front of me, here is my desk so far, with a little bit of practice with lighting:

Added my speakers...oh, and I fitted the carpet Very Happy

I recently decorated my bedroom, the colours here are pretty close to the actual, I think it's quite a nice colour scheme.

Ooh nicely done mate. I haven't done anything with max in ages but this is actually a very good idea, I might try it as well sometime soon.

Cheers Frank

Yes, one of the hardest things about modelling is deciding what to model Laughing (one of the reasons for CG Arts starting - wanted the inspiration of doing stuff for people).

Been struggling, googling, asking advice and banging my head against the table (well ok not the last one) to try get the desk to reflect.

Finally got it working Very Happy

Cheers Brandon, I must say I enjoyed this more than I thought I would hehehe

Not sure if I'll be doing more on this or not, I just wanted something to do so I could get used to the modelling tools in Max, so consider this a final render until further notice Laughing

A little peek at the composition:

Looks great! I was wondering if you could show me a tut you found or whatnot to get the desk to reflect, I've been messing around with 3ds max, right now I'm really messing around with hair and stuff =P Thanks ^_^

I haven't touched it since last May mate, forgot most of it now.

Can't remember where I eventually found out how to do it.
