Transparency problemI use Fireworks to do most of my small projects. The one im working on, im using the font Earwig Factory, and using transparency, because its supposed to be a logo on an html site.
When I make it transparent, it does that annoying white outline for the text (like a bad MS Paint edit). The noise is a filter which I want to use, but thats not causing the outline. The outline is not a part of the text. How can I get it to cover the "annoying outlines" or make the outline transparent?

What format are you using? gif?
If gif, it doesn't support semi transparencies, so any opaqueness will be made into full colour. Either give it a solid background (thus enabling you to use the semi transparencies) or use the png format.

Worked a little bit better, but it still shows up. I dunno if that would be a problem with the aliasing, but if it is, I cant see any settings for anti-aliasing or such.
The settings...
There was PNG 8, 24, and 32. Anything above 8 wouldnt allow any type of transparency so I chose PNG 8 > Grayscale with Index Transparency with the other option of Alpha Transparency (which I will try next).
I took a web design class a while back and when we were working on image transparency I was taught to use GIF > WebAdaptive index trans. but never tried to use alpha.
*I used PNG 8 > WebAdaptive rather than Grayscale and it still does thet same thing.
EDIT: I use PNG 8 > Grayscale and used Alpha Transparency, it worked.
Thank you for your help. Im sure ill be back...

what fireworks version are you using, as I'm a fireworks user and I get no problem with transparencies using png files, here's an example:

Is there a file that'll allow semi transparency AND animation?

The new kid on the block is the pnga format that allows that, but it isn't widely supported as yet. Otherwise you'd just have to be clever with your animation and how you do it I think (unless anyone knows different).

cheers. I have a temporary fix, but it won't be compatible with all forums. barely any, depending on how you do it.
Basicly I'm gonna make the matte the same colour as the forum background.

Using a png file, you can set a layers transparency to a set percentage say 50%, then saving it to png will keep the semi transparency, allowing any image behind it to show through slightly.
Thus follows an example I've used on a site I'm looking to finish setting up, look at the header logo(yeh teh robots) and the motif on the left and right hand edge, their both png files, the side motifs are cut renders of a larger image and the robots, have a semi transparent bg as you can see the main page bg behind it.
