Starting a New Life

Hey guys, haven't been on in a while.  A lot of stuff has been going on.  First, I will be moving into my own apartment next week.  Secondly, I just got a job at the Melting Pot.  Thirdly, I will be redoing a lot of my current art work, but will also be trying to get in some new art work also.  Finally, I am starting up my own Teen Newspaper and planning to call it Teen.Scene.  If anyone knows a good Dreamweaver tutorial for complete beginners or how to use Photoshop to create a website through Dreamweaver let me know.  It's a pain to do all of this on my own.  I have no start up capital cause advertising pays for the paper itself.  Of course, I want a website and business cards before I start getting advertisements.

I'm fairly adept at Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

The more artwork you make for people on here, the more time I'd be willing to give you on help.

I would suggest reading through an HTML tutorial, such as this one if you are looking to make your own website. While it may be easier to use the "tools" that are built into Dreamweaver, it's a lot better if you code the site yourself.

After reading through that HTML tutorial and messing around with making a test site, I'd suggest reading into CSS. You can find a tutorial for that right here.

I've been doing web stuff for about 3 years now, and it's frankly quite an annoyance when beginners use these WYSIWYG editors to make their websites, they turn out damn ugly, lol.

I disagree.  While hand coding a site allows you a little more freedom in certain aspects of creating your site, programs such as Dreamweaver enable a lot of features that you simply can't code in.  One feature that springs to mind is the template feature of dreamweaver, where you save your file as a template and if a change is made on the master, all the children of that master change too.

For example, you have 150 web pages with links to a certain page.  That page goes down so you need to update the links.

Hand coding = go through 150 pages, finding and replacing.
Dreamweaver = find and replace once.

Brandon, I've fixed the links in your post.

Hey bro.
I'm not so good on the whole photoshop because I use GIMP, and I've never heard of DreamWeaver...
BUT, I'm glad your life is turning around even if just a little.
And hey, if you ever need me for something, you know I'm just an Email or Call away...
Don't be afraid to ask.
You and me have gone through some really hard times together, but I love you no matter what anybody says.
Just want you to know that...

Yep, I was thinking more towards all of the things such as making of tables and bolding and formatting and such. They create ugly code.

Well thanks guys.  I know html and css, they are boring and time consuming to me.  That is why i'm interested in Dreamweaver, plus I didn't get Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection just to use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.  You'll see as much of my help as possible.  I'm still new to all these programs, but simple work is usually the best work.

Well, In my honest opinion, If you cba to type your own css and html, then you, sir, should _not_ be making websites

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know I may not be on for a little while after tonight or Sunday.  Not sure which yet, and it all depends on if I can get an unsecured wireless connection at my new apartment till I can get my own ISP (Internet Service Provider).
