Mirroring in anim8orWant to make a symmetrical model?
Its easier than you thought, you only have to model half of it
Make a sphere, diameter 100, Div lon: 12, Lat: 8
Locate it at the centre. (Edit>centre about origin)
build>convert to mesh
now, in point edit mode, select all the points to the left (in front view) of the centre, but not the points that are already in the centre.
Now press the scissor button to cut them.
Go to object mode and select your half sphere.
Build>mirror
Make sure 'x' is selected and press ok.
Ta-daaaaa!
Now, this is two seperate objects. Usually, once mirrored, we'd want them together, so build>join solids.
ok, they look together, but the middle points are seperate from each other, so we need to merge those points.
Go to point edit mode:
Drag select the middle lot of points, then edit>merge points. Accept the value of 0.5 and click ok.
The value 0.5 tells it how far to look for merging points, 0.5 means any that are really close to one another will be merged. Try it again with this setting at 20.
See how a lot more points get merged?
Easy enough lesson, but some stuff there that you will find very handy
