MannersRecently it has happened a few times where I have made artwork for people, seen them come on the site, they have put up their new artwork on their site, and not a word of thanks!
Good manners cost nothing.
I would understand it if they didn't like the artwork (but even then, a thank you for the effort is in order), but they have put up their artwork on their site without so much as a 'by your leave'. I mean, do they think we just poo the artwork out? Do they not realise it actually took someone the time and effort to sit down for a while and do nothing other than make that artwork specifically for that person!? Do they think it is a robot at the other end of the internet or something? 
It wont stop me making artwork for others of course, but I'll certainly be keeping a note of the ignorant gits, I will enjoy telling them to bugger off in the future.
End of rant...and now back to our normal schedule...

I totally understand your view point, regardless of opinion on the artwork a thanks for doing it would be nice, hence why I'm now only doing larger scale projects for a start price of £2 I know not much but still shows an appreciation in that they want me to do the work, obviously if the work is a lot larger and requires more then obviously a proper fee will be agreed upon.

That's a spot on strategy Nick, I know it will work well for you, you are a very talented artist.
I am keeping CG Arts as a free resource for people though, I have learned loads since this started and I have seen plenty others go from being crap (no disrespect intended) to being much better than I could get...sadly, most of those guys have gone on to other sites but hopefully they'll remember where they started

How about making a locked sticky in the artists section with a list of people who have no manners, you could add/remove people from the list so that the artists would know who's artwork to put low priority.

Thats a good idea, if we start to get a few others I think I will implement that, for now, I am hoping people will see this thread and remember we are human

Agreed.
People take too much for granted nowadays.
I remember way back when i was really active on here,
People used to thank you all the time even if it wasnt right.
now people are just like...
"yeah... cool."
