Making Tyres in Anim8or

Taken from http://www.anim8or.org

This is how I do tyres:

1) Start by making a small section of the tyre, in the style of the tread that you want.

2) Then copy, paste and merge points on these until you get quite a long line.

3) Apply a modifier so that the ends line up exactly with the ends of your flattened tread. Use the 'bend' opition with an angle of '-360'.

4) You should have something like this. For the tread I modelled, I selected a couple of loops of points, and rotated them around the z-axis.

He Bravo is anim8or compatible with flash. What is the file type for this program?

Maybe I can import figures like that.
Bravo

In anim8or you can export in the following formats:

.an8
.3ds
.obj
.c
.vtx

The most commonly used is .obj which can be imported into such as milkshape and then re-exported into almost any format.

That would mean no... But heres the thing that a lot of people do...

Create your 3D Objects in another program such as anim8or...

Create a movie with these programs

Import movie to flash

Viola ^.^

My specialty is still creating a movie with flash, so this is not an option for me.
For 3D animation swift is a good flash based program. This can even import 3D studio max objects, so I'm guessing anim8ot could be an option too.

Lol I don't think you quite got what I meant...

Some flash designers will create some of the 3D animations they want for flash in a program (such as anim8or) then render it to a movie file and import that small animation into flash and build the rest of the movie with flash around it...
yvo

I know exactly what you meant, but I have never used anim8or, so am not able to do this.
I wanted to use Bravo's creations.
Bravo

Gimme a shout if you want anything making yvo.

What format does flash use?
WeeBull

In a school project, we used a combination of swift 3D, 3DSMax 7 and Flash, but I can't remember if we actually used it in our final project or if we skipped it because it was too hard. I think we did the latter, but you can try it.
