[GIMP Tutorial] Outline Only TextWith this tutorial, you will be able to make text that is completely transparent, except for an outline. Don't know what I'm talking about? Example below...
Example:
Tutorial:

1. Open up a new image (I used 400 x 120)
2. Make a background (you can use mine to the right if you want)
2. Write some text in any color you want.
3. Make a new transparent layer.
4. Right click on your text layer and click "Alpha to Selection".
5. Go to: Select -> Grow and enter in 1 pixel.
6. Go back to your transparent layer.
7. Make your foreground color white.
8. Use the bucket fill and click anywhere outside of the selection.
9. Right click on your original text layer and click "Alpha to Selection".
10. Go back to your top layer.
11. Hit CTRL + K or Edit -> Clear.
12. Right click on your original text layer and hit "Delete Layer".
13. Hit CTRL + Shift + A or Select -> None to clear the selection.
14. You're done!
Result should be something like this:
