Fiery EffectFollowing this tutorial I made this:
Nothing spectacular but I think it is a pretty nice effect that may come in useful at some point.

Just showing you this in case you have it and have missed it (I don't know if elements has it or not).
Pen tool is awesome once you get used to it

Looking good there, Daniel.
You got stuck on the same thing I did...getting the little flicky bits on It took me ages to figure that one out.
(Prolly change the background to something dark too for a better effect).
For the flicky bits:
1. Choose the clone stamp tool
2. Press ALT and click somewhere on your line (make sure you are on the layer that the line is on). This will set the starting point of your clone.
3. Go from side to side (or up and down - perpendicular to your line anyway) until you get the effect you want.
4. To do a new bit, reset your start point (ALT + Click) and just start at a different spot, either closer or further away and just follow the line round.
5. Keep repeating until you figure you got it how you want it.

Having said that, it would probably be easier to just set your brush small, and paint the flicky bits on. Still, the clone stamp tool is a handy one to get to grips with...

Copied your footballer idea and made my (home made) wallpaper into a darker version with fire.

Do you think it would work in GIMP?
And if not, could you find something that tells you how to do this in GIMP?

Zeph, It does work in gimp.. but it's the Bezier tool instead, Also Elements does have the path tool, just called the pen tool. I used Elements for my design class.. although it seems crap to me. XD
