Does anyone know...............Does anyone (weebull) know how to join objects without a seam appearing. I have tried lining up the vertex and adding material but there is still a line present. I have even tried smooth on the modifier panel but this hasn't helped either.
I am making a figure (person) and I made the arms, legs etc separately but when I joined them I can see a seam where they are joined. This is creating a problem as you can Imagen.

Right. Here's what you have to do.
First of all you have to delete the inner polys of both the legs and the body, I mean you have to delete the polys that you won't be able to see anymore once the body parts are connected. I hope that makes sense.
Second, you have to attach the legs to the body so that they become one object. Select the body object and click the attach button in the 'Edit Geometry' rollout on the right side (I assume the body is an editable poly). Now click one of the legs to attach it to the body. Do the same with the other leg.
Now you have to weld the vertices together so you won't see that seam anymore. To do this you have to position all the vertices of the legs as close as possible to the corresponding vertices of the body. Quite hard to explain this. If you don't get it, could you please send me a screenshot with the wireframe of the model so I can show you which vertices you have to move where.
If you do get it, after moving them into position, select 2 vertices that are close together and hit the weld button in the 'Edit Vertices' rollout. If nothing happens you can click the little button next to the weld button and change the weld threshold in the popped up window untill the number of vertices changes (you can see this in that little window, 'number of vertices: before & after'). Do this with all the vertex pairs and it should look good in the end.
I hope this helps. Any questions, just ask.
