AustraliaBeen thinking about emigrating for a while now. Was looking at Canada, NZ and Oz.
Just done a points test thingy and even if I had no job to walk into, I still qualify. My company has several offices in Oz so I reckon it's very likely I could get an internal transfer.
Thinking about Darwin or perhaps Brisbane would be a better bet purely for employment prospects. My company has offices in both locations though there would be less actual physical work in Darwin.
Any thoughts/advice?

my cousin lives in aussie and loves it, I have been thinking about it myself as have more than enough points but I would miss my folks and my dad is poorly right now. if you do go would you mind leaving your family behind?

No, the internet keeps people closer than ever these days. And people can soon fly out, not a problem with free digs

Australia is absolutely amazing! Are you also planning to travel around a bit, because you seriously should . I've been recommending it to everyone and I'm going back for a year as well after I have finished my study.
The people there are so nice and I don't know what type of person you are, whether you're more into cities or more into like nature stuff, but you can find it all.
As for myself, I'm more of a nature type of guy so I didn't really care about the cities.
I've been to both Darwin and Brisbane and these are my thoughts: Darwin is more like a beach city, you know, lots of backpackers taking a break and enjoying the nice weather and lots of places to go out to at night. I haven't seen that much of Darwin though.
Brisbane seems to be more of a business city. I guess that would be a better choice for you, but then again, I don't really know you.
Also, prepare for a long long long flight...

Cheers Frank.
Personally, I am more of a nature guy, but the city is where the money is at, and that is how you put food in the kids mouths.
I'm thinking along the lines of one of the small towns North of Brisbane, so I could commute.
Still got to convince wife though...
