Once drove all the way from Leeds to Stirling to fix a leak on their sprinkler system....it was a shop unit.

Had to park a fair way away, went in the shop first to see what tools we needed.

'Here's the leak' they said.

I looked at it, 'you got a screwdriver?'

'Yes'

'You got a hammer I could borrow too?'

'Yes'

'Got a bit of old rag? an old dishcloth will do'

'Yes'

I tapped the dishcloth into the leak with the hammer once.  Leak was fixed.  Hung round for half an hour in case it started again, it didn't.  So drive back to Leeds Laughing

(btw don't try this technique on a leaking unless you know what you are doing, this is only for steel pipe, not copper)
