If as i have asked for some art work to be done then do the artist hold the copyrights or are they passed on to the person who requested them.

I know I wouldnt be arsed about any of my work. I do it for free and certainly wouldn't be suing anyone.

If someone were to make a bucketload of money purely because of some work I made, then I trust to the nature of the universe that they would compensate me in some way. If not, then no problem...they'll just burn in hell lol

theres a thing called "poor man's copy", which is where u put a copyright symbol on something, and you are entitled to a certain amount of money if that is stolen or ripped off, but not as much money as you would get if you actually got it copyrighted. in no way is the "poor man's copy" illegal. i actually use it on my site Wink

No silly, If you print all your work out... put it in an envelope... seal the envelope and address it to yourself... than once you receive it... Do not open it... since it is mailed you you* the artwork is then copyrighted... so don't open it...

I think I understand it quite a bit, but I couldn't put it into my own words(creating my own explanation)...

Ah, If you made it and have proof you made it, then it's copyrighted too you. Save the PSD's, XCF's, SWF's or whatever the program file is. Then if someone copies it, you have the original files piece by piece, which they don't.
